Besides this fee, applicants may also have to pay the right of permanent residence fee, which is $500. This fee payment can be made at the time of submitting the application. This fee has to be paid by those applicants whose application is approved. If the application is rejected, the fee will be refunded.
The following people are exceptional for the right of permanent residence fee:
- Children of the sponsor or principal applicant
- Applications for sponsorship for adopted children
- Applications for sponsorship for an orphaned relative
- Protected persons which include applicants on the basis of humanitarian grounds, compassionate grounds, and convention refugees
No increase will be done for the application on the fee of permanent resident cards, permanent resident travel documents, certifications, and replacement immigration documents.
