University of Limerick

The University of Limerick (UL),  that stands right next to river Shannon on Ireland’s west coast was established in 1972. It is a young university compared to the others, but has become quite the favorite among aspiring students and scholars from around the world.

How to get into Universities in Ireland?

The autumn and spring intake seasons are the two primary admission periods in Ireland. The autumn intake begins in September, whereas the spring session begins in February. When selecting the ideal intake, take into account factors such as programme availability,  your academic success, admission score requirements for the preferred course, acceptance rates, etc.

There are multiple ways you can apply for admission; most institutions prefer that you apply directly. Admission to most undergraduate, graduate, and other courses follows a standard process. Although there could be minor differences between universities, the fundamental procedure is the same. Some courses may require you to apply through the Central Application Office (for UG courses) or the Postgraduate Application Office. 

Once you have cracked your English Proficiency Test with the required score, you will need to follow the next few steps to complete your admission process. The first and most obvious thing to do it get your documents ready, but let us see what else you need to do- 

  • Prepare your Letter of Recommendation and Statement of Purpose (SOP) (LOR)
  • Register at the Central Applications Office (if applicable)
  • Submit applications to the universities you have shortlisted
